EMay teaches private and semi-private music lessons on voice, piano, guitar, ukelele and bass, as well as songwriting, recording and performance techniques. She teaches a “for families” program that allows the entire family to learn an instrument of their choice simultaneously so that the whole household can enjoy learning and playing together.
EMay also develops broadcasting-based workshops and curriculum for in-school, afterschool and camp settings. These courses allow participants to learn about the science and technology behind sound engineering while creating songs, podcast episodes, original stories, public service announcements, and more. See current offerings below.
EMay hosts open mic nights in West Virginia, at the Purple Fiddle and El Gran Sabor, where her students and all interested community members can showcase their talents, work on new material, meet other musicians and play together. See show calendar for upcoming nights.
EMay and her flow dance troupe, Steel Town Fire, also teach flow-arts workshops and classes, and have founded public “spin nights” to share their love of the flow arts.
