I didn't know it yet, but 8 years ago, I did the kindest thing I have ever done for myself. It was simple in hindsight, but certainly not easy - just don't drink today. A novel concept indeed. Who knew it would be such a good idea that I never looked back! . . Thank you, me, for making the decision. Thanks to the forces that be for helping me stick with it for 8 years. And thanks to so many more for showing up and showing me how simple it is to live right one day at a time. What do you love? Things I have fallen in love with: THISDOG duh #ShivaRasKala ... creekside swimhole, which was not as cold as I expected on the first dunk of the year ... a lifestyle that allows me to wander around, creating and sharing music and art and gardens and poetry and crafts ... a home so remote that the only person I see all day is the man I share a bed with ... that man! #soinlove ... how GREEN everything gets this time of year ... being able to eat all that green as the spinach and arugula and lettuce starts getting thick in their beds ... PEONIES irises & those little pink bell flowers... I could go on. But the thing I love the most is how much more all of this means because of how far I have come. We have worked hard for all these wonderful moments and amazing things. Well... except for the dog, he just showed up on the side of the road. #soberstory #grateful #onedayatatime #timetakestime
