Flashback Fridays – Evergreen by Between Liberties

While playing with Between Liberties, Wytold pulled out this riff.  Jason & I dropped our jaws and picked up our instruments. Shortly thereafter, Evergreen was born.

I had been thinking a lot that love and unity – as opposed to arguing and debating – is what was going to transform and open our culture away from the destructive and wasteful policies that have governed us and separated us for too long. But, for a long time, “it was all I could see… small pieces of debris where the mountains used to be.”

This song feels just as powerful as it did then, perhaps more so, with the passage of time and the small tides that keep turning…
